Roy came into the GOALS program in the winter of 2018, having only earned money by collecting and selling cans for the previous five years. Roy had been very successful prior to this as a construction equipment operator, but in the midst of moving from one place to the other Roy lost his identification and had not found a means to reacquire his ID. Working through the GOALS program, we were able to help Roy request and receive his birth certificate, and later get a State ID. All the while, Roy attended our Bridges class, sharpening up on the day to day soft skills needed for working with an employer. Roy did great with the class, continued to learn, and even met with potential employers through mock interviews. Roy met with an employer in the class that liked him so much that he has agreed to hire Roy when he completes the class!
